Born in New York, New York
to working class parents, life might have been a struggle.
Instead, my parents took the risk and moved their family of four
daughters, to the land of Sunshine and Opportunity -California!
In those early days we could still hear the cows mooing and the
orange groves were only miles away. Raised in Southern
California, life changed for the better.
However, at the age of 21, I found myself as a single parent,
working two jobs, living back at home for a time, and struggling
my way toward a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Communications
as well as credentials for teaching from K-12 and Junior
College. I was going to be ready for anything! Then I met my
husband, Jim and before I knew it, he whisked me and my daughter
Tracey away to New Hampshire, where we married and settled down
in our first home. While there, I taught at the University of
New Hampshire, then went on to receive a Law Degree from
Franklin Pierce Law Center.

Missing the closeness of a large family, we eventually moved
back to California, this time to Northern California, where I
taught at a local Jr College and eventually began working for
the Department of the Navy where I had wider options. We built
our second home in Benicia, and life was good! Then the base
closed, and both my husband and I had to be transferred. He went
to Monterey, while I finished my work in Benicia.
Eventually, I
was transferred to Pascagoula, Mississippi and our dream of
resettling in Monterey was put on hold. We dramatically changed
our lives to become "yankee transplants" in a southern culture.
We involved ourselves in the Mardi Gras life of the south,
eventually serving as King and Queen of the Krewe of Les Femmes!
But Mississippi got hit by Hurricane Katrina, and we lived on
that infamous coastline; our house was damaged, our furniture,
clothes and many precious objects were destroyed. It was time to
move on. With the help of special friends, we decided to return
at last to our Dream of living in the Carmel-Monterey area,
which also meant being closer to our daughter and her husband,
and our two wonderful grandchildren who live in Berkeley. My
husband and I both retired and packed what little we had left
and drove HOME.
From the streets of the lower east side of New York, to the
beautiful, rugged coastline of Northern California - the road
had been a long and adventuresome trip. My years as a teacher,
training officer and human resource professional and my tenacity
to keep seeking the best, made becoming a Realtor the most
logical move. It was like a wonderful round trip on the
extraordinary train of life. There had been interesting stops
along the way, many lifelong friendships made, and yet today,
new ones still being made. Jim and I never tire of driving Big
Sur, eating in restaurants in Monterey and walking the beautiful
streets of Carmel. Finding my way to Mont Grove Properties was
not by accident - it was meant to be. I am home - and living
life to the fullest. There is abundance out there for all of us.
I want to help you find yours, as I have found mine.
